The international air quality conference comes to Chile for the first time

ASIC LATAM 2027 is the Latin American edition of the Air Sensors International Conference (ASIC), organized by the UC Davis Air Quality Research Center (AQRC). For the first time in the region, this event will bring together researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and international organizations to tackle critical challenges in air quality monitoring and management.

The conference will take place in Santiago, Chile, from May 17 - 20, 2027, positioning Latin America as a key region for advancing data-driven solutions.

From Sensors to Solutions: Advancing Global Air Quality Action

Rooted in the interdisciplinary ethos of UC Davis and the Air Quality Research Center (AQRC), ASIC LATAM convenes researchers, policymakers, industry leaders, and community stakeholders from across Latin America and around the world to advance air quality science and action.

Building on the global ASIC model, ASIC LATAM:

  • Centers regional priorities, addressing the diverse air quality challenges and opportunities across Latin America’s urban, industrial, and rural landscapes.
  • Democratizes air quality data, empowering communities and governments alike to advocate for meaningful change.
  • Equips policymakers with actionable, science-based insights to inform mitigation strategies and policy development.
  • Expands access for LMICs and underserved audiences, fostering participation and capacity building across the region.
  • Promotes cross-regional learning, connecting Latin America’s innovations with global best practices in a collaborative, solutions-focused forum.

Through these efforts, ASIC LATAM transforms research and data into practical, locally grounded solutions that drive measurable improvements in air quality and public health.
